Focus: Humanitarian Aid & Social Welfare for Seniors
In many displaced communities, the elderly are the most overlooked. This project provides a dedicated safety net for the “Old Ones” who have lost their ancestral roots in Makoko.
- The Goal: A specialized welfare program providing mobile healthcare, nutritional support, and social inclusion for seniors aged 65 and above.
- Portable Care Clinics: Since many in Makoko are becoming displaced, our team operates mobile health units from our Yaba-Oyingbo office to provide check-ups, blood pressure management, and essential medications to the elderly in temporary shelters.
- Dignity Grants: We facilitate small-scale “Dignity Grants” through our Islamic Finance/Financial Inclusion model, allowing seniors to sustain small home-based trades without the pressure of interest-bearing loans.
- The Impact: Ensuring that the elders of our community—the custodians of our history—live their remaining years with dignity, health, and a roof over their heads.
Status: ONGOING
In the chaos of displacement, our elders are often the last to be reached. This campaign ensures that the “Old Ones” of Makoko are never forgotten.
- The Campaign Goal: Monthly mobile healthcare clinics and nutritional support for displaced seniors.
- Financial Inclusion: Using our Islamic Finance model, we provide micro-grants to elderly traders to help them restart their small businesses after displacement without the debt of interest.
- The Impact: Restoring the health and social standing of the custodians of our culture.
